Shubat Transportation Fights Hunger with "Stuff the Bus" Food Drive
Event to be held October 29-30, 2010
October 19, 2010 - Hibbing, MN: Shubat Transportation is proud to sponsor the 1st Annual "Stuff the Bus" food drive in Hibbing. The event will be held in the Super One Foods parking lot on Friday, October 29, and Saturday, October 30, from 9:00am to 6:00pm. 100% of all food and monetary donations will directly benefit the Hibbing food shelf.
The goal of this food drive is to fill an entire school bus with food donations. Our school buses transport hundreds of children to and from school every day. Filling up just one of these school buses could feed hundreds of families!
There are several ways to donate to this event. A Shubat school bus will be parked in the Super One Foods parking lot in Hibbing from 9:00am to 6:00pm on Friday, October 29, and again on Saturday, October 30 to collect donations. You can also drop off donations at the Shubat Transportation office, located at 618 West 41st Street (next to the VFW). Donation boxes will also be placed on all city transit buses throughout the month of October.
Food donations should be non-perishable food items. Non-perishable foods are "shelf-stable" items that do not spoil or decay. They can withstand months of shelf life, which is why they are sometimes referred to as "shelf-stable" foods. They are items found on the shelves of most home pantries...and these items are a vital staple for food shelves when serving hungry individuals and families.
